Gro is seeking an exceptional professional to help propel its facility design portfolio to higher levels of impact. This newly created position will join a team of cause driven professionals to create stimulating spaces that inspire people to reach their personal and collective aspirations.
Gro is considering candidates who can demonstrate an ability to produce innovative design solutions for the YMCA (the Nation’s largest not-for-profit organization) and other community based organizations. The Staff Architect will work remotely within a framework and culture of strong virtual teamwork and collaboration.
Gro’s administrative office is in the Boston area, but our staff are scattered throughout the United States and where candidates live is entirely flexible.Gro Development LLC (www.gro-dev.com) is the sole contracted provider of the YMCA of the USA (www.ymca.net) delivering facility development, design, and management solutions to the Nation’s Ys and other membership based non-profits.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, and schematic design.
- Interface with consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
- Resolve complex technical and design issues.
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
- Assist in creating renderings, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Contribute to company activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 Years’ Experience.
- License preferred.
- Related architecture and design experience with a background in hospitality, recreation, and/or community facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, with a rigorous design education.
- Flexibility to focus on a multiple clients with a variety of project types and multiple projects in various stages of development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
- Expertise in Revit Architecture for Design, Documentation, and Data Collection.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up and 3-D Studio Max preferred.

You will be required to develop proposal from initial concepts stages through to final proposals and will form a key part of a small and growing team with excellent career prospects and a view to promotion to associate level in the short / medium term. The successful candidate must demonstrate significant relevant experience in the design of landscaping for luxury resorts in both the UK and internationally and will be a strong designer with comprehensive technical / delivery knowledge.
