Based in the heart of Chichester this award winning, highly successful and professional practice have an great opportunity for a Project Architect to join their growing team. Established over 25 years ago the practice is made up of around 40 people working in a beautifully converted period building in the centre of the city. The practice has an excellent reputation for design quality and has developed long standing relationships with a wide range of clients across the UK. They possess a varied portfolio of projects including education, residential, car showrooms and corporate headquarters. Due to continued success and growth they now have the requirement for an Project Architect.
Role & responsibilities
- Preparing working drawings, building regulations and specifications.
- Manage client / firm relationships and all contractor arrangements.
- Visit site periodically, attend project meetings and observe construction progress when and where required.
- Running own projects across all RIBA stages.
- Supervising and managing team members.
Required skills & experience
- ARB registered with at least 5 years solid UK private practice experience.
- Working in either the residential or education sectors.
- You will be able to demonstrate excellent technical skills, a thorough knowledge of construction and experience in the delivery of projects.
- Knowledge if AutoCAD or Revit would be highly advantages.
- Be located close or looking to relocate with in a 45 minute commute of the business.
Salary & Package
The role would offer salary of £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.

Pfeiffer Partners is currently seeking an intermediate level architect for both our Los Angeles and New York offices to support the firm’s continued growth.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Architectural degree from an accredited program; a Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of relevant architectural experience in cultural, institutional, and educational work.
- Excellent design and graphic skills, with the ability to work on complex projects from the pre-design through construction documents phases.
- Self-motivated with proven time management abilities to achieve deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and valid work status in the U.S.
- Experience working in the context of multidisciplinary project teams.
- In-depth experience with Revit is essential.
- Working knowledge of AutoCad, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and/or other design related software is considered a plus.
- Licensure desired.
Position responsibilities
Architects at Pfeiffer Partners need both strong design and technical skills and are expected to be able to communicate effectively with project teams and consultants. They must:
- Work with the Project Architect and Project Manager to assist in design efforts on projects of a variety of scales, but primarily over $15M in construction cost.
- Demonstrate a high degree of creative thinking with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas both verbally and graphically.
- Implement work of Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration phases of complex project typologies.
- Document new construction, as well as complex renovations and additions.
- Prepare complex building construction drawings and details.
- Understand and coordinate project specifications.
- Conduct materials and building systems research.
- Coordinate with large consultant teams including structural, MEP, civil; as well as specialty consultants such as theater designers, acousticians, lighting designers, landscape architects, waterproofing consultants, etc.
- Help develop presentations using physical and digital tools.
