James Cleary Architecture is seeking a junior architect. JCA is a design oriented firm located in Brooklyn, NY. We work on a variety of projects, from innovative new multi-family construction to creative commercial interiors. Applicants should:
- Have an accredited B.Arch or M.Arch degree.
- Have 1-2 years professional experience.
- Be highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe.
- Suite programs. Experience with Vray for Sketchup a plus.
- Be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Be capable of being involved in multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be equally comfortable in both the digital (energy modeling, 3D modeling/rendering) and analog (hand sketching and physical model making) worlds.
- Be reliable and aggressively well organized.
- Reside within commuting distance of our office.
- Be a U.S. citizen, or already possess a work visa for working in the U.S.

Small design-intensive architecture firm located in LIC and specializing in community and cultural projects is seeking an experienced Project Architect to begin work in September.
We work as teams and place a high value on cooperative, mutually supportive colleagues. Our method is for all architectural employees to work on all phases and aspects of a project. Therefore, the range of talents we seek for this position include strong design and detailing skills, careful checking and coordination of all trades, and ability to work with clients and contractors. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and can handle multiple, changing priorities. This is a position that requires flexibility and the ability to keep track of many moving parts. The ideal candidate will have an interest in joining this growing firm long-term.
This position is full-time and will entail periodic international travel. Because of the nature of this position, the Project Architect must be a US Citizen or hold a green card. Details to be discussed in the interview.
Primary responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Principals of the firm.
- Overseeing and managing the production of schematic design, design development, contract bid documents of cultural and international projects as described above.
- Providing QA and QC on the quality and legal sufficiency of drawings and specs.
Skills / Qualifications:
- A solid background in cultural and educational architecture, strong detailing and coordination skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong design and detailing skills.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel / Project.
- B. Architecture required, M. Architecture preferred.
- Licensure and Leed accreditation a plus.
