PLM Architects, a medium-sized, design-led practice based in lovely Cork, Ireland’s second city, and Kenmare, in the rural south-west of the country seek an experienced Architect to join our team in our Cork City office.
This role might suit an architect with prior Irish experience wishing to return home after weathering Ireland’s economic storm in the UK or further afield.
It is hoped that the successful candidate will become an integral member of the practice as it evolves and grows.
Our workload spans many sectors and candidates will need to demonstrate design and presentation skills, exceptional communication skills and an ability to work to deadlines and under one’s own initiative.
The successful candidate will be comfortable leading a small team of technical personnel and setting the bar high in terms of staff motivation and interest.
Proficiency in ArchiCAD / Revit is necessary while a working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Project would be an advantage.
Availability to travel around the country and occasionally internationally is necessary.

Candidates must be motivated, able to work independently, but also collaborate with others in a team environment is a necessity.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor or master degree of architecture with a minimum of 7+ years experience in an architectural practice and have a basic understanding of building systems; candidates with an equivalent amount of work experience will be considered. Knowledge of various architectural styles, project types and ability to freehand sketch is considered an asset. Technical proficiency and confidence using architectural drafting, modeling and rendering software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, 3D Studio Max, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, is an asset.
