Currently, we are seeking to hire an Interior Designer in the New York City office with solid design and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead interior design teams on projects.
- Collaborate on interior design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Work directly with clients to develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.
- Participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications.
- Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
- Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
- Assures design conforms to contractual agreement with client.
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience as an interior architect or interior designer, with a focus on commercial or interiors.
- Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials.
- Outstanding conceptual 3 dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills.
- Computer skills to include AutoCad and Revit as well as knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, in Design, Sketch Up, 3D and other modeling software programs.
- Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school.
- NCIDQ Certification a plus.

We provide professional services to a wide range of corporate, professional, private, commercial, restaurant, residential development and arts clients throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. LLA specializes in the alteration, conversion and reuse of existing urban structures and is extensively involved in the planning and design of residential and retail development within urban neighborhoods, as well as in the design and development of urban mid and high-rise multiple family dwellings. Many of our clients depend on LLA to evaluate site conditions, document existing conditions, assess zoning, building and accessibility code issues and identify the unique attributes of a location or structure that may impact on the development of a potential site and/or structure.
LLA is seeking a mid to senior level architect to assist in challenging NJ and NYC based projects. Candidate shall have experience in Design and CD preparation, familiarity with Building and Energy Code conformance requirements and offer a high level of Construction Administration services. Candidate shall also lead or assist in site surveys, evaluations and field meetings.
