Stephen Sills Associates is an international renowned Interior Design firm with a focus on high end residential design and hospitality projects. Specializing in transforming interiors into timeless and unique environments for modern living. We have an immediate opening for an intermediate level interior design architect with a strong knowledge of construction documentation in a high end residential design setting. Their role would be to assist senior designers in execution of their interior design projects. Task would include drafting of plans and elevations from a schematic level through development of a full construction set, including millwork details and custom furniture drawings. As well as sourcing furniture, fixtures and finish materials.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum 3-5 years professional interior design or architect experience.
- BA or MA in interior design or architecture.
- Approved for full time work in the US.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Studio Designer is also a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

We are a multidisciplinary studio specializing in interior architecture and design, identity and graphic design, art curation and commissions, furniture design and sourcing, and idea generation. We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team to participate in a wide range of hospitality and commercial projects. The Junior Designer acts as the team’s supporting staff member, preparing design presentations and producing its deliverables under the direction and support of the Senior Designer and oversight of the Project Manager.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, meticulous and able to function in a fast paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously. They will also express an enthusiasm for learning all aspects of the design process and seeking out new and exciting resources and materials.
Responsibilities:
- Source and vet furniture, lighting and hardware options.
- Liaise with vendors regarding pricing and lead times.
- Research materials and maintain the materials library.
- Help prepare client presentations.
- Create and track working budgets, spec pages and spreadsheets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel/Numbers, Adobe CS (Google SketchUp a huge plus).
- 1-2 years of professional experience.
- Enthusiastic, willing to roll up your sleeves, and able to troubleshoot to get the job done.
- Extremely organized and thorough with the ability to adjust to changing priorities/deadlines.
- Must possess strong technical skills and abilities.
