RYS Architects is currently seeking Junior and Intermediate Architectural Interns to assist with our hospitality and mixed-use residential / retail projects. If you are a self-motivated individual with strong design and graphic skills, technical ability, Revit proficiency, have great communication skills, like dark chocolate and desire professional growth in a small firm environment, we want to talk to you. You will be working as part of a project team and working independently depending on the project or phase. Our current projects range in size from a 7-unit residential/retail mixed-use project to a 12-acre master plan development including two hotels, a conference center, and retail buildings. Our staff of 15 diverse people with various skills will expose you to all phases of our projects including conceptual site planning, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Our office in San Francisco is conveniently located one block from the Glen Park BART station. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an architectural firm.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Adobe CS.
- Organized and able to multi-task.
- Basic knowledge of wood frame construction type.
- Knowledge of concrete frame construction type is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices; LEED AP or higher is a plus.
- Experience with hospitality and/or multifamily residential projects is a plus.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and talented Part III Architect immediately to join our young and vibrant architectural practice. Our ideal candidate will possess at least one year’s post Part III experience, and have a good understanding of all RIBA workstages, contracts and technical detailing. There will be opportunities to play a prominent role across our current and upcoming projects, as well as in the strategic direction of the studio.

Person specification
Essential:
- Fluency in Vectorworks 2D, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac platform.
- Excellent skills in both written and spoken English.
- Demonstrable experience in architectural practice within the last three years, to include at least one year’s post Part III experience.
- Proven experience in UK-based projects with a good understanding of all RIBA workstages, contracts and technical detailing.
- Proven experience of high-end residential and/or mixed-use projects.
- Proven experience of guiding a design team from inception through to project completion.
- Proven ability and willingness to work flexibly within a small team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of client liaison.
- Previous experience of running projects with a contract value of £2million+.
- Experience of and/or interest in working on competitions and awards.
