Derrick Wade Waters is a multidisciplinary chartered surveyors practice with an in-house design team, which combines the skills of architectural consultancy, structural engineering, building surveying and town planning to provide a unique and well regarded service to our clients. We are based only a 5 minute walk from Harlow Town train station, with good links to London and Cambridge.
Due to continued success, we require a motivated and conscientious architect or architectural technologist to join our busy design team on a permanent basis. The practice operates primarily within the commercial sector whilst taking on an increasing amount of residential work. Current projects include a development of 8 apartments which is due to start on site shortly, and planning permission for 10 houses on a light industrial site in Essex. Experience of working on all stages of construction projects including planning submissions is essential, as well as a solid knowledge of current Building Regulations and statutory requirements.
The successful candidate must be driven and able to work in a team, as well as being adaptable to the demands of each individual project and the needs of the practice as a whole. Revit has recently been introduced to the practice and is intended to be the main software package going forward. Experience of Revit is preferred, however training may be available for the right candidate. As the practice works on a diverse range of projects AutoCAD will still be in use, and the successful candidate must be proficient in using this software.
