Lumen Architecture is searching for designers who are both enthusiastic and drawn toward participating within a highly collaborative, creative, encouraging, fun and thought provoking environment. We are seeking:
These positions provide growth opportunity for motivated detail-oriented individuals looking to apply themselves toward all aspects of the lighting design process – from concept design and mock-ups, to custom product research and design development, to project management and construction administration. Candidates will be quickly involved in multiple projects.
Desired Skill Set of Candidate:
Design:
- 4 or 5 year degree or Graduate degree in related technical field. Lighting design, architecture, engineering or interior design education is preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and building systems.
- Good visualization and representation skills, and the ability to verbally express ideas.
- Creative thinking and a willingness to take initiative on projects and tasks.
- A solid foundation in lighting principles and technology – photometrics, light source qualities, fixture design, power and lighting control systems.
Experience with the following is a plus:
- COMcheck.
- 3D modeling software: Sketch-Up, Rhino (+DIVA), 3dsMax.

Intermediate Designer requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Architecture (B. Arch).
- Architect's License in the State of California desired.
- 5-7 years experience (California school projects & DSA experience a plus).
- Solid experience working as a Job Captain on small to mid-sized projects.
- Proven ability in project coordination leading the development of construction documents.
- Excellent in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and other 3D modeling software.
