Guerin Glass Architects is currently seeking a Junior Interior Designer in our Brooklyn office. Candidates must have a professional degree and a minimum of 2 years of office experience. They should have comprehensive design skills and be able to demonstrate a focus on space planning, design, interior detailing, and material selection.
While the position will have a primary concentration on interior design, it will also involve collaboration with the entire design team throughout schematic design, development, and detail documentation. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting throughout the project lifecycle by:
- Researching for design concept and precedent.
- Assembling presentation documentation for project and client meetings.
- Researching resources for materials, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware.
- Obtaining material samples and pricing for projects.
- Assisting with production of drawing packages and specification books.
- Organizing and maintaining sample and literature library.
- Coordinating meetings with technical and other reps for design team.
Software requirements:
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Must have experience in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in Revit, Rhino, V Ray, and/or Sketchup would be a plus.
Skills / Qualifications:
- A keen eye towards creative graphics and interior design.
- Strong communication, writing, and graphic design skills.
- Proactive and collaborative.
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and efficient.
- Capable of working in a rapid paced workflow.
