Workshop/APD is a design firm specializing in both luxury home design and high-end commercial development. We actively leverage our experience to solve design challenges with innovative solutions that incorporate modern ideals / methods toward a signature aesthetic. We are currently seeking a full-time Intermediate Designer / Architect with 3-5 years’ experience.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Design and management of residential projects (with luxury single family and multifamily experience).
- Design and management of hospitality projects (with hotel and restaurant experience).
- Involvement in all phases of design/documentation.
- Computer modeling and rendering.
- Construction document preparation.
- Contract administration.
Applicants should have previous high-end residential and/or hospitality experience and demonstrate proficient knowledge of multi-family projects. Candidates should also demonstrate high level digital modeling and rendering abilities and competent use of all architectural design programs.
Qualifications:
- Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch).
- Minimum of 3 years high-end architectural design experience (should be able to showcase finished/built work).
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (2008 or higher), and all Adobe programs.
- 3-D Modeling and Renderings skills in: Studio Max, V-Ray, or Rhino.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Highly developed communication skills, specifically with senior management, clients, and consultants.
- Highly organized.

Small, energetic and ambitious design-oriented architecture studio seeks a talented Architect with 5+ years of professional experience. Experience with all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration is required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate project management skills as well as the ability to oversee multiple projects. Experience with a variety of project types is preferred. Experience with academic, institutional and/or library projects will get you in the door right away.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate team management experience, solid communication and leadership skills along with construction document proficiency. Our office operates on MAC-based software and experience with Autocad and/or Vectorworks is preferred but not required.
Our office enjoys working on a variety of project types, from college libraries to model agencies, film production studios to private residences. Most of our work is in the New York metropolitan area and successful candidates will have knowledge of local building codes and standard procedures.
