Role Responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer
- Managing projects efficiently, to program and budget.
- Managing and briefing design team on live projects.
- Mentoring and assisting junior and middleweight designers.
- Managing the procurement of FF&E products.
- Building and growing existing client relationships.
- Visualise and explain concepts to team members.
- Developing detailed designs and choosing materials.
- Working closely with the directors, using initiative on new business opportunities and attending networking events within the industry.
Key Skills of the Senior Interior Designer
- Ability to create and develop conceptual designs including the skill of using colour and texture.
- Advanced skills in PhotoShop and possibly 3DS Max and/or Rhino.
- Knowledge of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling).
- Experience in using MicroStation or AutoCad.
- Self-confident and receptive to constructive feedback.
- Ability to manage time and work flow of projects efficiently.
- Quality experience in dealing with suppliers and contractors.
- Fully competent in producing detailed FF&E specification with costings, materials, finishes and sanitary schedules.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual.
- Exceptional attention to detail.

Workshop/APD is a design firm specializing in both luxury home design and high-end commercial development. We actively leverage our experience to solve design challenges with innovative solutions that incorporate modern ideals/methods toward a signature aesthetic. We are currently seeking a full-time Intermediate Designer / Architect with 3-5 years’ experience.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Design and management of residential projects (with luxury single family and multifamily experience).
- Design and management of hospitality projects (with hotel and restaurant experience).
- Involvement in all phases of design/documentation.
- Computer modeling and rendering.
- Construction document preparation.
- Contract administration.
Applicants should have previous high-end residential and/or hospitality experience and demonstrate proficient knowledge of multi-family projects. Candidates should also demonstrate high level digital modeling and rendering abilities and competent use of all architectural design programs.
Qualifications:
- Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch).
- Minimum of 3 years high-end architectural design experience (should be able to showcase finished/built work).
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (2008 or higher), and all Adobe programs.
- 3-D Modeling and Renderings skills in: Studio Max, V-Ray, or Rhino.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Highly developed communication skills, specifically with senior management, clients, and consultants.
- Highly organized.
