Design a new care home with landscaped gardens that will regenerate the site back into a sustainable and meaningful use, meeting the clearly identified requirement for care in the local area.
Outcome
The proposed three storey building accommodating an 80 bed Care Home with landscaped gardens that aim to enhance the visual appearance of the site. There are dining and lounge facilities for each wing, with additional communal lounge and activity rooms, hair and beauty salon and medical facilities. Several spacious balconies with fully glazed screening provide external amenity space for residents on each wing.
Careful consideration was given to the external spaces around the buildings, maximising the opportunities for private spaces and visual enhancements.
The building is a timber frame construction topped with a flat roof and the exterior skin is finished with lightweight render on board and fibre cement cladding.
Construction work was completed in February 2019.
