Project Brief:
Proposal to replace an existing care home with double the amount of accommodation. The level of accommodation must be up to the highest standard with communal areas designed to maximise natural daylighting.
Outcome:
The final design proposed a 60 bed care home with high quality internal and external communal spaces that will allow residents to connect to nature.
A palette of traditional materials are proposed to echo and enhance the architectural character present at the site, particularly in the retained portion of buildings dating from 1868, these being brick, render and stone with detailing features in recon stone to windows and door openings.
Work is expected to start on site Autumn 2019.
